LegaSea is a non-profit organisation that wants to restore marine abundance and give the next generation a fair go. Their aim is to:

      • Keep the public of New Zealand well informed about the state of our fisheries.
      • Collaborate and promote solutions to improve management of our marine life, for the benefit of all New Zealanders.

The Kai Ika Project is a LegaSea run initiative that brings communities together to share previously unwanted fish parts to reduce waste and feed communities whilst conserving fish for future generations. Since the project started, over 330,000kg of fish heads and frames have been recovered and shared with appreciative families throughout Auckland. The Kai Ika Project now offers a professional fish filleting service for recreational fishers. The concept encourages fishers to utilise the entire fish, including the heads, frames, and offal that are frequently thrown away, in order to maximise their catch. The Kai Ika Project aims to bring about a more cooperative future for fishing in New Zealand.

      Waste not, want not.

When a deer is broken down, its various pieces, such as steaks, roasts, ground meat, and other cuts, are separated from the complete animal. Jake and his team of professional butchers with training and experience in cutting meat can do this technique. A wonderful method to learn how to butcher your own meat at home is to break down a deer with expert butchers.

At Trev Terry Marine we are thrilled to have M21 Meats on board to assist with this crucial knowledge. We are able to integrate with our hunting brand and give our customers professional assistance on how to butcher their own meat thanks to our partnership with Hamills. Everything from how to handle a deer safely to the best methods for cutting the meat into slices will be covered in the demonstration. It’s a fantastic chance to learn from the experts and pick up some fresh hunting techniques. Don’t pass up this thrilling occasion!

Victory Knives, famous for excellence in precision and toughness, will be showing some of their best merchandise made to take your culinary explorations to new heights. Their range, which includes filleting knives and multipurpose utility blades, is proof of the ideal fusion of artistic design and practicality, 100% committed to staying Made in New Zealand.

But it goes further than that. Victory Knives partners with LegaSea as they are as passionate about protecting the oceans as we are. Together, we want to spread the word and encourage sustainability.
