The Buccaneer 470 Esprite

Introducing, to you the Buccaneer 470 Esprite. A classic model, compact and versatile fibreglass boat that pioneered the range of Buccaneer boats we have today.

Our Stock 470 Esprite for sale.

Let’s talk about this immaculate 2002 Buccaneer 470 Esprite we have here for sale. This two-owner boat is in fantastic condition, the last owner has owned this boat since 2009 and has been on the lake its whole life, from the southern end of Lake Taupo and more recently in the South Island. The Yamaha 90hp on the back has only clocked 150 hours, which is extremely low considering the engine is over 20 years old.

The 470 Esprite is the perfect size if you want a boat that is easy to operate and handles well. At approx 900 Kg towing weight on the trailer, this package is a breeze to manoeuvre and can be pushed around on the flat ground by one person. The Voyager multi roller trailer makes for easy and simple launching and retrieving. Being a runabout with a lower screen height, this boat can be tucked safely away into most standard garages to keep it in the pristine condition as it is currently.

Layout & Usability

The layout of the boat is exceptionally functional. The walk-through windscreen & opening foredeck allows seamless access to the anchor locker, or for exiting the boat onto a beach. There is ample seating provided with twin back-to-back seats and two aft corner seats. Good storage capability with the option to place items under the back to back seats, and the large side pockets provide a great spot for Fishing rods or water skis.

The flush-mounted glove box is a great spot for your mobile phone or car keys. The canopy will keep you protected from the elements and the included road cover keeps the cockpit and contents of the boat protected while traveling to your favourite spot. The boat is fitted with a ski pole, and that well-proven Yamaha 90 hp 3 cylinder 2 Stroke will provide great performance for all your water sports activities while being economical to run too. This engine is a great match for this hull as it will be safe to drive while still have more than sufficient performance for water skiing & wakeboarding.

Having been a part of the Buccaneer range from the beginning, it would be fair to say that the 470 hull has evolved over time allowing for the on the water performance of this hull to be tweaked and refined to now provide the smooth and predictable ride that you will get from this boat.

WHAT WE THINK – Final words from Brock, Gordon & Matt…

If you are looking for a proven performer that is safe and functional for your family, then take that next step, and let’s get you out on the water making memories with your crew. The 470 Esprite is without a doubt a classic model and somewhat of a rare find. It’s not easy to get your hands on one that is in mint condition and with very low hours.

Based on the condition factor and its age, we score the 470 Esprite an 8/10
