Ever wondered how to HUNT FISH with radar? It’s simple – Automatic Bird Mode.
Bird mode takes the guess work out of the equation, the MFD automatically adjusts radar parameters to mark flocking sea birds at a distance. By monitoring the flock’s movements, the skipper can then manoeuvre the vessel to where the action will be rather than where it has been. Generally, birds can be marked at 3-4 NM, they are normally a lighter colour, if they are moving too fast, they are generally looking, stationary means they are feeding, fish!!!!
