Ladies – Know your boat!

Sherie and Juliet, both volunteers of Coastguard are providing a FREE two-hour presentation about smarter and safer boating. The presentation will be delivered in an enjoyable format for ladies in the area.

Topics covered include:

• Safety
• Communication
• Rules of the road and by laws
• Coastguard info

– Hot drinks and nibbles will also be provided.

Dates:

• Thursday Oct 28th 6-8pm
• Saturday Oct 30th 2-4pm

Venue – Safetea HQ, Shop 45 Turangi Town Centre

Experience or no experience, this presentation will help you increase your boating knowledge and recognize and respond to life threating situations. So, Ladies know your boat.

A bit about Coastguard Turangi

“First established as the ‘Turangi Marine Rescue Service’ in 1974 in 1980 it became Turangi Marine Rescue service.  Its final name change was in 1991 when it became a Coastguard Unit.

The volunteers from the Unit live in and around Turangi and are supported by employers and family who actively encourage their participation in Coastguard.

Based at Tokaanu Marina at the southern end of Lake Taupo allows a rapid response to “save life at sea” and aid vessels that require assistance anywhere on Lake Taupo, Lake Rotoaira and Lake Otamangakau.” – Coastguard Turangi
